Above is a demonstration of how to use the BBQ cleaner 1.0, sold in 2025.
Note: It is fastest to drag the cleaner downward, although you can also push upward and use the tip for the smaller corners in the grate.
Cleaning:
The video above is a quick way to wash your wooden bowl when using it for salads with cream-based dressings, sticky sugar treats, or other messy items.
If all you used it for was dry goods (like chips or popcorn, etc.), or oil-only salad dressings, you can simply wipe it thoroughly with a damp cloth and dry paper towel.
Never soak your bowl or leave water-based foods sitting in the bowl too long. These bowls can be used for soup, but won't be happy at an hour-long family dinner for example.
Not dishwasher, microwave, stove, or oven safe. This seems like a no-brainer, but some people really do need this info, lol.
Maintenance:
If used daily, you should re-treat with mineral oil every month or so. If you use it less often, I would recommend mineral oil once or twice per year.
Not Recommended:
Theoretically, you can use other oils like olive oil or safflower oil, but be warned, these types of oils do go rancid and can eventually have the "rancid oil smell".
There are also special finishes out there for cutting boards and wooden kitchen items. They use various kinds of oil mixed with beeswax. I wouldn't recommend this because it changes the texture of the wood, giving it a waxy feel. If over-applied (too thick or too often), it can become cloudy and dull the clarity of the finish on the bowl.
